Big Data Made Human: A Big Success at WTM in London

Caricatures and nSight Intelligence App Draw Attention to Our Stand

The response was overwhelming!  Just like we humanize big data to make travel intelligence about the traveler again, we personalized the show experience for WTM attendees by offering fun caricatures in our stand.  With a line into the aisles for most of the day, our artist, Sam, drew amazing likeness of more than 120 guests.  Our caricatures were all the buzz during the show with attendees proudly displaying the artwork from an nSight lanyard around their necks as they walked the show floor. The walking advertisements brought even more traffic to our stand as people came to get a caricature and learn about nSight.

Attendees can go here to download their caricatures from the nSight Stand at WTM in London.

With a record 40,000+ attendees, WTM 2013 was the launch of nSight travel intelligence to the European market.  The product met with great interest not only from tourism boards and hotels in Europe but also from organizations in the Middle East and Asia.  In addition to meeting with individual destination marketing boards, we began partnerships with several of the world’s most influential travel organizations.  Each group we spoke with echoed the same message — that they had never seen this type of data available before (insight from 25 billion global search and booking transactions aggregated from across 5,000 websites, that is) and that the price point made the purchase decision a no-brainer.

We hosted a standing-room only presentation on Wednesday in the Technology Theatre. Jami Timmons, President and CPO, spoke on how to take action on big data insights to convert active shoppers. The session generated a wave of stand traffic and demos. (As well as invitations for Jami to speak at other events!) The response was so strong that we are scheduling a follow-up webinar for WTM attendees on November 20th.  Look for the invitation via email or on our events page.

Thank you to WTM and our hosts in London for an unforgettable European launch!
