Online Bookings to U.S. up 14.3% month-over-month
nSight data aggregated from over 5,000 travel websites worldwide showed that bookings to the U.S. for travel dates in October were up 14.3% over the previous month. Daily conversion data for October shows that Fridays are peak conversion days, followed by Thursdays. The first half of the month experienced higher conversion than the later part of the month.
The top Personas searching for travel during the month were Adventure Seekers and Self Seekers, however when it came to top demographics booking — the higher income Bucket Listers moved into the #2 position.
From an international perspective, Canada was a top source for visitors with six cities in the top 25 sources. Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal were in the top 10 international markets booking into the U.S. from third parties in October.
Toronto was the top market outside of the U.S. traveling to the U.S. in October, up 20% from September. And 39% of travelers had a length of stay of 3-4 nights.
